Erikshjälpen combats poverty and vulnerability by realizing children's rights in Sweden and around the world.
The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, often referred to as the Children's Convention, defines the universal conditions that children today have the right to live under, and which Erikshjälpen works to strengthen. This includes the equal and unique value of all individuals, regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, beliefs, and religion.
The fulfillment of children's rights and opportunities for a long-term future are strongly influenced by how sustainable society is.
We work to empower adults and parents who live around children in order to improve children's opportunities for a safe upbringing.
We work on the basis of rights, with child participation, to bring about change for children living in poverty and vulnerability. We believe in child participation children's own ability to get involved and change their situation themselves.
A Rights based approach for long-term and lasting social change where people become independent.
All interventions on a holistic perspective, but with a particular focus on children's right to education and leisure, health, safety, and protection.
For us, it is self-evident that concrete aid efforts are always linked to decision-makers, authorities, and other responsible parties. We want to be a clear voice for children in vulnerable situations and contribute to increased knowledge about children's living conditions and rights.
