What is Erikshjälpen Framtidsverkstad?

Together with children, young people and their parents, we want to create the conditions for personal development, social mobilization and participation in the development of their own neighborhood through Erikshjälpen Framtidsverkstad . By strengthening the target group's dreams, driving forces and abilities, faith in the future is formed that enables long-term positive change.

The work is carried out in close collaboration with the municipality's activities, the business community and other civil society.

Erikshjälpen Framtidsverkstad is currently located in Motala, Helsingborg, Linköping, Borlänge, Uppsala and Kristianstad. All our activities look different and are adapted to the local needs and wishes of the participants. Some examples of activities:

• study support
• job preparation interventions
• leadership training
• meaningful leisure activities
• discussion groups
• community guidance
• parent empowerment interventions.

The interventions are based on four different focus areas that together provide children, young people and their parents with the conditions to change their situation:

• personal development and community
• social mobilization
• local advocacy
• on to the world of work

What impact has Erikshjälpen Framtidsverkstad had in its first five years?

Our results report from 2024 shows that Erikshjälpen Framtidsverkstad makes a real difference for people who often lack Support from society. The activities reach children, young people and parents who otherwise risk being left out - and help to create confidence in the future, participation and local change.

The report is based on four years of evaluations by Contextio Ethnographic in two locations, and on interviews with participants and partners. The results show that Erikshjälpen Framtidsverkstad lays the foundation for long-term change in neighborhoods where the needs are great.

In each place where Erikshjälpen Framtidsverkstad is located, we collaborate with Erikshjälpen Second Hand. In this way, we can create opportunities for both young people and their parents to make contacts, build social networks and train the skills that are important to meet the demands of working life. And thus find their place in working life.
