Barnrättsäventyret

Barnrättsäventyret is an educational and exciting experience for children, helping to explain what the CRC means and how it can be applied in everyday life. The concept is designed by Erikshjälpen in collaboration with the Rescue Mission.

Barnrättsäventyret is inspired by leading educators, researchers and other children's rights education programs in Sweden. Since the first adventure day was held in the fall of 2015 and until 2019, more than 2,500 students haveparticipatedin the adventure and been involved in its refinement. The adventure today includes the activitiesanddiscussion questions that have been most appreciated and produced the best results.

It is a physically active concept that takes place largely outdoors with collaborative exercises, discussions and music production. The adventure is aimed at middle school classes.

The four parts of the child rights adventure

  1. An introductory lesson to children's rights in Sweden.
  2. An outdoor course with four stations, each containing a challenge and a discussion.
  3. A creative workshop where students work with drama and music on a dilemma of their choice.
  4. We call the fourth and final part the continuation. This means that the adventure is not over just because the training day is over. It is now that teachers and pupils can start working on children's rights issues at school.
