Every Child Matters is an educational concept that inspires educators and children to learn more about children's rights - through song, music and creativity. The concept consists of an orderable material based on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and what it means in everyday life.
The material is pedagogically structured and contains exercises that can be used directly in classes or groups of children. Along with text, images and music, it highlights the issues that can sometimes be difficult and hard to deal with, even though they are present in our everyday lives, in our preschools and schools. All Children Matter provides tools for working with equal treatment plans and sustainable core values.
The material is aimed at children aged 4-12 years.
Sign language interpretation of the song and book is recorded.
"If you have been forced to flee your home country, you have the same rights as any other child in the new country. If you have fled alone, you should receive special Support and assistance. If possible, you should be reunited with your family."
This is Article 22 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The book "Alm 22" is a book about how it can feel to come as an only child to a new country. The book is accompanied by a CD with songs.
In the book, children meet the characters of the Shining Starling, the Grumpy Magpie, the Sparrow Family and the Blackbird - all of whom are birds that live in Elm 22. One day, a bird crash lands and breaks its wing just outside Elm 22. The birds learn to help each other to see and care for their new bird friend, even though he chirps in a different language.
