Erikshjälpen is there before, during and after a crisis or disaster. Through collaboration with local partners, we can act quickly when a disaster occurs and help the people affected.
We save lives and help communities recover
We provide Humanitarian Assistance to communities and people affected by crises and disasters, including natural disasters and conflicts. We work mainly in countries where we have existing partners and projects to be able to act quickly and help those who need it most.
Preventing action on climate change
Erikshjälpen also works with disaster risk reduction and resilience to contribute to the ability of people and communities to cope with change, especially due to climate change. We believe that prevention is as important as emergency interventions to reduce the impact of future disasters.
How we provide Disaster relief
- We work with existing partners to act quickly when a disaster strikes.
- We work to raise awareness among communities and people about risks and how to protect themselves and their communities.
- We develop models of how people can organize themselves to reduce the risk of future disasters.
- We also work to reduce the impacts of climate change by supporting communities to adapt to new conditions and find sustainable solutions.
