Youth Program Coordinator

Erikshjälpen runs the “Framtidsverkstad” program in several locations across Sweden. Together with children, youth, and parents, we aim to create opportunities for personal development, social mobilization, and participation in community development. By strengthening children’s and young people’s own dreams, motivations, and abilities, we foster hope for the future and lay the groundwork for long-term, positive change. The work we do is carried out in close collaboration with municipal services, the business community, and the rest of civil society.

Description of the project

Som verksamhetssamordnare är du en del av vårt team inom Erikshjälpen Framtidsverkstad i Halmstad. Där kommer du leda den operativa verksamheten tillsammans med ytterligare en annan verksamhetssamordnare och i nära samverkan med en arbetsmarknadssamordnare. I rollen möter du och dina kollegor barn, unga och föräldrar då ni gemensamt ansvarar för att driva den operativa verksamheten framåt.

Framtidsverkstaden i Halmstad startade under våren 2026 och är fortfarande under uppbyggnad. Målsättningen är att bygga upp en verksamhet som liknar övriga framtidsverkstäder runt om i Sverige, men anpassat utifrån behov och kontext i just Halmstad. Verksamheten består av återkommande aktiviteter så som samtalsgrupper, studiestöd, arbetsmarknadsinsatser, språkcafé, föräldrastöd, familjeaktiviteter, lovaktiviteter, utflykter och ledarskapsutbildning. Vi besöker regelbundet områdets skolor, arrangerar olika områdesevent och spontana aktiviteter utifrån önskemål från boende.

Work tasks

Examples of work tasks:

• Create meaningful programs for children, youth, parents, and the community by planning, implementing, and evaluating activities based on our target groups and their needs.
• Ensure quality and results by monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on the organization’s performance, impact, and costs.
• Contribute to the development of the organization's operations in collaboration with the unit manager.
• Build relationships and foster engagement by establishing trusting relationships with children, youth, adults, and professionals.
• Collaborate with schools, local governments, civil society, and the business community on social interventions.
• Lead and support daily operations by mentoring activity leaders, volunteers, and interns.
• Late afternoon/evening work occurs regularly and weekend work occurs a few times per semester. There is some overnight travel.

Qualifications

You are:

• A relationship-builder with a strong commitment to children and young people and their opportunities for growth, particularly in areas facing socioeconomic challenges. You have a natural ability to build trust and foster participation.
• You are sociable, communicative, and a team player, and you feel comfortable working in a multicultural environment.
• self-motivated, responsible, and enjoys working in a goal-oriented and structured manner to develop the business and drive processes forward.

You:

• has relevant post-secondary education in fields such as health, education, social work, human rights, or equivalent work experience that the employer considers to be of equal value.
• has experience in social work with people in vulnerable life situations.
• has experience building relationships with children, youth, and parents.
• has experience working in or collaborating with the nonprofit sector and public agencies.
• shares a common vision with Our Core Values, which are based on three fundamental principles: Erik’s spirit, a Christian view of humanity, and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

It is an advantage if you have:

• multilingualism
• experience with civic engagement
• experience in children's rights issues and Rights based approach.

As a member of staff, you are covered by the collective agreement for civil servants (Unionen/Akademikerförbunden). We are committed to ensuring that our employees have a good work-life balance. We offer our employees a wellness allowance of 2000 Swedish kronor (SEK) per year.

Terms and conditions

Employment Type: Permanent position, beginning with a six-month probationary period.

Scope of work: 100%.

Start Date: As soon as possible or as agreed

Placering: I vår lokal i vårt verksamhetsområde (Linehed) i Halmstad, samt med en kontorsplats i Erikshjälpen Secondhand butiken i Halmstad.
