Supervisor for our hub in Borås

Erikshjälpen is a child rights organisation a non-profit second-hand business. We work in 16 countries, including Sweden, and we run around 50 stores under Erikshjälpen Second Hand Sweden and Norway. We work according to our vision: A changed world where children's dreams come true. Our mission is to combat poverty and vulnerability by realizing children's rights around the world.

Description of the project

You will play an important role in achieving the hub's set goals, our surplus goal, social goals, and environmental goals. Your task is to actively lead the daily work in the various stages of the goods flow, with the aim of efficiently preparing as many donated gifts as possible, which will then be distributed to our three second-hand stores in the local area. As a supervisor, you are an operational leader and strive to optimize productivity, efficiency, and quality.

No two days are alike, so as a supervisor, we expect you to be flexible, take charge of what needs to be done, and enjoy varied work.

Work tasks

Examples of work tasks:

  • Working with the operations manager and supervisors to lead the day-to-day production work at Erikshjälpen's facility in Borås.
  • Actively lead the daily work in the various stages of the gift flow, which involves problem solving, communication, and a coaching approach.
  • Contribute to the development of the business together with the Head of Operations and Supervisor.
  • As a supervisor, you are a role model for other employees, volunteers, and people who are participating in work trials, activities, or other employment through government agencies.
  • You will report to the Head of Operations.

Qualifications

You have:

  • a post-secondary education or other relevant higher education, or work experience deemed equivalent
  • relevant work experience in work management
  • experience in shop work, preferably in retail
  • interest in aid and secondhand work.

 

You:

  • are confident in your leadership role and are a relationship builder who is used to meeting people in different life situations and contexts
  • is a team player who finds it easy to collaborate with others
  • are self-motivated, responsible, and enjoy working in a goal-oriented and structured manner
  • are a positive person with good social skills and are committed to your work
  • is solution-oriented and has the ability to work for the greater good based on set goals, in order to develop and drive the business forward
  • shares Erikshjälpen's core values, which are based on three fundamental principles: the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, Erik's spirit, and a Christian view of humanity.

 

Meritorious if:

  • you have experience in logistics and efficient goods flows or from production
  • you have relevant experience working with people from diverse backgrounds and/or with special needs
  • have experience working in the second-hand sector.

Terms and conditions

Type of employment: Permanent position, with a six-month probationary period
