Listening Erikshjälpen's advocacy work is based on our values and identity as an international child rights organisation. It guides the choice of which topics we engage in. We work actively to drive and support opinion and advocacy work with children at the center.
How we make a difference
We are convinced that children can change the world and believe that all children should be seen, listened to and taken seriously. Therefore, Erikshjälpen works actively to drive and support opinion and advocacy work with children at the center.
In practice, it's about helping to change structures or laws for the better for children. And the world they dream of.
We want to spark a willingness to dialog and debate
While advocacy is often linked to dialogue and debate with policy makers, advocacy is anything that creates the political will to engage in both dialogue and debate, that gets the public involved, the media to cover the issues and those in positions of responsibility to act.
When Erikshjälpen works with advocacy, it includes public education interventions, opinion formation and lobbying.
To achieve lasting societal change, we need to reach out to policy-makers, authorities and other duty-bearers - so that they take responsibility for children's rights and sustainable development.
Erikshjälpen's opinion and advocacy work focuses on issues within our Thematic areas: education and leisure, health and safety, and protection.
