Supervisor for our store in Skövde

Erikshjälpen is a child rights organisation a non-profit second-hand business. We have been working to combat poverty and vulnerability by promoting children's rights since 1967. Together with local partner organisations , we partner organisations long-term with children's rights in 16 countries. In total, we run around 50 Erikshjälpen Second Hand in Sweden and Norway.

Description of the project

Erikshjälpen and its partners are now looking for a supervisor for the clothing, shoes, children's and sports departments at our store in Skövde. In Skövde, the store is run in collaboration between the Pentecostal churches in Skövde and Stöpen, Elim Church and Erikshjälpen Second Hand.

As a supervisor, you are operational and lead and participate in the daily work in the store so that established surplus targets, social goals, and environmental goals are achieved.

Work tasks

Examples of work tasks:

  • Your focus area in the store is to lead the work in our clothing, children's, footwear, and sports departments. Other departments may be assigned after appointment.
  • You will lead and participate in the daily work in the store together with the store management and the store's employees.
  • You act as a supervisor for employees, volunteers, and people who perform work trials, activities, or other employment through government agencies.
  • Together with store management, you are responsible for the sale of goods.
  • Joint responsibility for the store during opening hours, will also have store responsibility for certain Saturdays during the year.
  • You introduce, coach and develop people through labor market interventions.
  • You will develop the business together with the store management.
  • In close collaboration with the operations manager, you will plan, refine, and develop the store and its working methods.
  • You contribute to and create job satisfaction in the store.
  • You report to the operations manager.

Qualifications

You

  • have relevant work experience in work management
  • have good interpersonal skills and experience in customer meetings
  • has a keen interest in aid and secondhand work
  • shares our core values, which are based on three basic principles: the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, the spirit of Erik and a Christian view of humanity.

 

It is an advantage if you have

  • experience or knowledge of valuing secondhand goods
  • documented experience in retail operations
  • experience in the fashion industry
  • experience of volunteering yourself, as well as leading volunteers.

Terms and conditions

Type of employment: Permanent position, with a six-month probationary period
