Supervisor for our store in Halmstad

Erikshjälpen is a child rights organisation a non-profit second-hand business. We have been working to combat poverty and vulnerability by promoting children's rights since 1967. Together with local partner organisations , we partner organisations long-term with children's rights in 16 countries. In total, we run around 50 Erikshjälpen Second Hand in Sweden and Norway.

Description of the project

You will play an important role in achieving the store's set goals, our surplus goal, social goals, and sustainability and environmental goals. As a supervisor, you are therefore an operational leader who carries out the daily work with a focus on the store. No two days are alike, so as a supervisor, we expect you to be flexible, take charge of what needs to be done, and enjoy varied work.

Work tasks

Examples of work tasks:

  • You are a supervisor for employees, volunteers, and people who perform work trials, activities, or other employment through government agencies.
  • Joint responsibility for the store during opening hours, as well as store management on certain evenings and weekends.
  • Be a role model in terms of service skills and good customer service, with the aim of creating a memorable experience for donors and customers in a welcoming, clean, and fresh store.
  • Within the specified area of responsibility, lead, distribute, and coordinate work carried out with the help of employees, volunteers, and interns.
  • As part of the management team, together with the store's employees, participate in and lead the daily work, focusing on sales and operations in the store.
  • Together with the management team, responsible for sales and display of goods.
  • Together with the operations manager, plan, process, develop, and take responsibility for the store in order to achieve set sales and profit targets.
  • You will report to the Head of Operations.

Qualifications

You have

  • a post-secondary education or other relevant higher education, or work experience deemed equivalent
  • relevant work experience in work management
  • experience in shop work, preferably in retail
  • interest in charity and second-hand work
  • shares our core values, which are based on three basic principles: the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, the spirit of Erik and a Christian view of humanity.

You are

  • confident in your leadership role and a relationship builder who is used to meeting people in different life situations and contexts
  • ready to use your knowledge in sales to lead the business towards our goals
  • self-motivated, responsible and enjoys working in a goal-oriented and structured way
  • a person with good social skills and experience in customer meetings.

 

It is an advantage if you have

  • relevant experience working with people from diverse backgrounds and/or with special needs
  • Experience working in secondhand retail, if applicable.

Terms and conditions

Type of employment: Permanent position, with a six-month probationary period
