Erikshjälpen's interventions in Sweden are about giving children equal conditions for growing up - where all children are seen and can participate in society. We promote children's rights through Erikshjälpen Framtidsverkstad, Ungagerad and the Rafiki education platform.
It is important to work for equal growing conditions for children in Sweden because all children have the right to a safe and secure childhood where they can develop their full potential and have equal opportunities to achieve their dreams. It is a matter of human rights, that all children should have the same opportunities regardless of their background or socio-economic status. Yet this is not the case in Sweden today. By working to create more equal growing conditions for children in Sweden, we can create a fairer and more equal society where all children have the same opportunities.
Many children in Sweden grow up in poverty, exclusion and insecurity. When children grow up in difficult and insecure circumstances, they are more likely to miss out on educational and career opportunities later in life, limiting their potential and chances for a good life.
To create change, we need to involve the children and families affected by these challenges to create change that really makes a difference. In this way, we can empower them and give them the opportunity to influence their situation.
As in Erikshjälpen's international work, all interventions in Sweden are based on our Thematic areas.
