Four children from Tryserum school share their thoughts on justice in the world and how we can work together to change it.
Thea, Lina, Isabelle and Donald from Tryserum School have talked about equality. They think that there are many injustices in the world.
Donald says:
- It's unfair that some people have so much food that they throw some away, while others don't have enough and get sick. If you're sick, you can't go to school and you can fall behind.
Thea fills in:
- Some are poor and struggle in many ways. They may live in poor houses and have to work hard to afford them. Sometimes even their children have to work.
Isabelle thinks we can start by not taking more food than we eat.
- This way we don't have to throw away food and can instead share it with others in need," she says.
Lina agrees:
- It is important for everyone to go to school. If you get an education, you can get a good job and not be poor.
The children have more ideas:
- We can raise money to drill wells so that everyone has clean water. Water should be free for everyone," they say.
The children's advice is clear:
- Children can be good friends and invite the lonely or sad person in, they say.
Adults also have a responsibility. The children tell us:
- Adults need to ensure that everyone is well, both here and across the world.
