Many children have chronic illnesses, have been injured or have a close relative who is ill. Being hospitalized or having an illness that requires frequent visits to the hospital can be scary, sad and difficult for a child.
Kultursjukhuset is a non-profit organization that uses clowning, music, fairy tales and stories to make life easier for sick children and their families. Play and creativity open up for both conversation and laughter, which can bring both joy and comfort in an otherwise difficult situation.The activity is also part of the care team and is sometimes present at examinations as a distraction and support.
