Supervisor for our store in Helsingborg

Description of the project

As a supervisor, you’ll be hands-on and lead the day-to-day operations in the store to ensure that established profit, social, and environmental goals are met. No two days are alike. As a supervisor, we expect you to be both flexible and enjoy a varied workload.

Work tasks

Examples of work tasks:

• As a member of the management team, work alongside the store staff to participate in and lead the day-to-day operations of the business.
• You will act as a supervisor for employees, volunteers and people carrying out work trials, activities or other employment through government agencies.
• You are responsible, together with the management team, for the sale and display of goods.
• Together with the management team, you will be responsible for the store during business hours. You will also be in charge of the store on certain weekends.
• You will report to the Head of Operations.

Qualifications

You are:

• a relationship builder who is accustomed to interacting with people in various life situations and contexts.
• self-motivated, responsible, and enjoys working in a goal-oriented and structured manner.
• open, friendly and has a representative manner with a high sense of service.
• good at shifting focus between details and the strategic big picture.

You:

• have a post-secondary education or other relevant college education, or work experience deemed equivalent.
• has relevant professional experience in management.
• has experience with agile work methods aimed at developing the organization and its employees.
• has experience working in a store, preferably in retail.
• is interested in aid work and working at a thrift store.
• shares our core values, which are based on three basic principles: the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, the spirit of Erik and a Christian view of humanity.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience and/or knowledge and interest in social media marketing.
• Experience with and/or knowledge of appraising secondhand goods.
• Experience working with people with special needs.
• Familiarity with digital systems and the Office suite.
• We highly value your personal qualities, and we will place great emphasis on them during the recruitment process for this position.

About the workplace

Erikshjälpen is a child rights organisation a nonprofit secondhand business. Together, we share a common vision: a better where children’s dreams come true.

We work to combat poverty and vulnerability by promoting children’s rights in 16 countries. In Sweden, our work on children’s rights is primarily carried out through Erikshjälpen Framtidsverkstad, in close collaboration with our secondhand stores. In total, we operate about 50 Erikshjälpen Second Hand in Sweden and Norway. One of Erikshjälpen Second Hand’s missions is to generate as much surplus possible for the children’s rights organization Erikshjälpen.
