Store Manager for Erikshjälpen's store in Norrköping

As a supervisor, you play a key role in helping the store achieve its established goals: our profitability goal, our social goal, and our environmental goal. You work on the operational side, leading and participating in day-to-day operations with a particular focus on preparation—that is, the “path of the gift” through receiving, sorting, appraising, price-tagging, and preparing items for sale.

No two days are alike, and as a supervisor, you need to be flexible and enjoy a varied workload.

Work tasks

Examples of work tasks:

• As a member of the management team, participate in and lead the day-to-day operations alongside the store’s employees, with a focus on food preparation.
• You will act as a supervisor for employees, volunteers and people carrying out work trials, activities or other employment through government agencies.
• Together with the management team, you are responsible for processing incoming donations and, to a certain extent, for the sale and display of merchandise in the store.
• Jointly responsible for the store during opening hours, there are also store responsibilities during some evenings and weekends.
• You will report to the Head of Operations.

Qualifications

We want you, as an applicant, to

• has a post-secondary education, preferably in sales/commerce, leadership/behavioral science, or social work, or education/work experience deemed equivalent.
• has relevant experience in supervision/leadership.
  has experience working in a store or warehouse, preferably in retail.
• interest in reuse/secondhand items.
• shares our core values, which are based on three fundamental principles: a Christian view of humanity, “the spirit of Erik,” and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

You are:

• A relationship-builder who is confident in your leadership role and accustomed to interacting with people in various life situations and contexts.
• self-motivated, responsible, and enjoys working in a goal-oriented and structured manner.
• a person with good social skills and experience in customer meetings.
• a person with a strong ability to prioritize, make decisions, and solve problems, sometimes at a fast pace.

Meritorious if:

• You have experience working with people who have individual support or workplace accommodation needs.
• You have experience working with recycled or secondhand items.

About the workplace

Erikshjälpen is a child rights organisation a nonprofit secondhand business. Together, we share a common vision: a better where children’s dreams come true.

We work to combat poverty and vulnerability by promoting children's rights in 16 countries. In Sweden, children's rights work is mainly carried out through Erikshjälpen Framtidsverkstad, in close collaboration with our second-hand stores. In total, we operate around 50 Erikshjälpen Second Hand in Sweden and Norway. One of Erikshjälpen Second Hand's missions is to generate as much surplus possible for the children's rights organization Erikshjälpen.
