Erikshjälpen is a child rights organisation a nonprofit secondhand business. Together, we share a common vision: a better where children’s dreams come true.

We work to combat poverty and vulnerability by promoting children's rights in 16 countries. In Sweden, children's rights work is mainly carried out through Erikshjälpen Framtidsverkstad, in close collaboration with our second-hand stores. In total, we operate around 50 Erikshjälpen Second Hand in Sweden and Norway. One of Erikshjälpen Second Hand's missions is to generate as much surplus possible for the children's rights organization Erikshjälpen.

We are looking for a Regional Manager

As Regional Manager for the Southern Region, you will be responsible for strengthening Erikshjälpen Second Hand’s position as a leading player in the secondhand industry. With stores spread from Trelleborg to Växjö, you’ll have the opportunity to both develop existing stores and establish new ones. Your role includes leading our store managers, driving organisational development store councils and board work, and being responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with partners such as churches, parishes, and municipalities. Together with operations managers, you will create memorable experiences for both donors and customers, and promote circular commerce in the region.

You will also become an integral part of Erikshjälpen Second Hand’s management team and play an active role in leading the organization forward.

Work tasks

Examples of work tasks: 

  • You are responsible for sales and store operations within the region.
  • You will represent Erikshjälpen Second Hand in various contexts.
  • You are responsible for ensuring that the region’s surplus, its sustainability mission, and its social mission are in line with the goals set by the ESH Board.
  • You are responsible for budgeted earnings/sales and monthly Monitoring.
  • You will ensure good relationships with partners.
  • Together with the operations managers in your region, you will create and develop the conditions for memorable experiences for donors and customers in our stores.
  • You will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with representatives of our stores’ partners (parishes, municipalities, and others) in a way that benefits ESH in both the short and long term.
  • You will participate in joint projects for Erikshjälpen Second Hand help implement them within the organization.
  • You represent Erikshjälpen Second Hand the boards of external stores and on the store councils they administer.
  • You drive organisational development the boards of external stores and the store councils of internal stores.
  • You provide support, leadership, and coordination through your department heads.
  • You will be part of the management team and report to the Executive Director of Erikshjälpen Second Hand.

Qualifications

You:

  • has many years of professional experience, solid leadership experience, and is accustomed to leading through others.
  • has a proven track record of effective management and leadership experience.
  • has a strong ability to develop and lead people based on their individual strengths.
  • has an open, empathetic, and inclusive approach and is very easy to work with, both internally and externally.
  • is guided by our three overarching missions: the social mission, the environmental mission, and the mission to generate a surplus to increase funding for development assistance.
  • must have a Class B driver's license, as the job involves traveling several days a week.
  • shares our core values, which are based on three basic principles: the spirit of Erik, the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and a Christian view of humanity.

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Previous work experience in both the retail sector and the nonprofit sector.
  • Previous experience with and/or knowledge of appraising secondhand goods.
  • Previous experience working with people with special needs.

Terms and conditions

Type of employment: Permanent employment, with a six-month probationary period.

The position is based at home; the work area is the southern region, and there will be days spent at the office in Huskvarna. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
