Sales and Operations Manager

Erikshjälpen is a child rights organisation a non-profit second-hand business. We work in 16 countries, including Sweden, and we run around 50 stores under Erikshjälpen Second Hand Sweden, Norway, and online. We work according to the vision "A changed world where children's dreams come true." Our mission is to combat poverty and vulnerability by realizing children's rights around the world.

Description of the project

As Sales and Operations Manager for Erikshjälpen Second Hand stores, you will drive the development of our business while ensuring that our operational processes are efficient, sustainable, and value-creating, both for the business and for the people involved in it.

In your day-to-day work, you will use your business acumen to create opportunities to transform gifts into attractive second-hand goods, highlight the importance of reuse, and contribute to a customer experience that is both simple and inspiring. The role is primarily tactical with operational elements, but also includes a strategic layer where you identify areas for improvement, analyze data, and translate insights into decisions that strengthen the business over time.

You are a member of the association's management team and work closely with its various functions. The role involves overall responsibility for the operational activities of our stores and the people who work there. You will have a broad and competent team around you and will have direct personnel responsibility for regional managers and the logistics manager.

Work tasks

  • Own and develop store operational processes for the entire flow of goods, from gift to preparation, replenishment, and sales, including sorting and recycling. To help you, you will use insights from data analysis, customer feedback, conceptual chain operations, and ideal business logic.
  • Ensure that operations comply with the association's statutes, guidelines, self-monitoring, and policies, and actively work to achieve annual targets related to both operations and sales.
  • Implement, follow up, and further develop Erikshjälpen's strategic plan, and translate it into working methods that drive the organization toward our long-term ambitions.
  • Lead budget and forecasting work for the sales and operations function, including analysis and development of results.
  • Engage and inspire the organization through monthly Monitoring sales, results, and key figures at both the overall level and the store level.
  • Represent and promote Erikshjälpen Second Hand's interests in external boards and collaboration forums, particularly those linked to our major partners.
  • Strengthen the brand by promoting and representing the business in internal and external contexts.
  • Act as media contact in matters relating to operational activities and sales.
  • Together with the Executive Manager, be responsible for cooperation with our partners, including signing, compliance, and Monitoring agreements and steering documents.
  • Participate in joint projects and ensure implementation in operations, with a focus on developing sales, working methods, and operational processes.

Qualifications

You have

  • Relevant education in, for example, leadership, economics, retail/commerce, or logistics
  • understanding of our partners' context, where the majority are linked to church communities, and the ability to navigate that environment
  • Several years of documented experience in management and leadership, with the ability to bring together, motivate, and develop staff across multiple levels
  • Experience in sales, service, operations, and preferably establishment within a store or retail environment
  • Good ability to analyze key figures, work in a data-driven manner, and translate analyses into practical decisions
  • Strategic thinking and ability to work long-term with the development of processes and operations
  • Good teamwork skills and a service-oriented, solution-focused approach
  • Structured and organized work style with a good ability to prioritize tasks according to the needs of the business
  • ability to work with strategies, policy documents, and operational management based on our core values.
  • good knowledge of English, both spoken and written
  • you share and support Erikshjälpen's core values in word and deed
  • knowledge or experience of leadership in a non-profit context.

Experience in retail, second-hand stores, chain operations, and the non-profit sector is an advantage.
