Supervisor for our store in Västra Frölunda

Erikshjälpen is a child rights organisation a non-profit second-hand business. Together, we share a common vision: a changed world where children's dreams come true.

We work to combat poverty and vulnerability by promoting children's rights in 16 countries. In Sweden, children's rights work is mainly carried out through Erikshjälpen Framtidsverkstad, in close collaboration with our second-hand stores. In total, we operate around 50 Erikshjälpen Second Hand in Sweden and Norway. One of Erikshjälpen Second Hand's missions is to generate as much surplus possible for the children's rights organization Erikshjälpen.

Description of the project

The store currently has a store manager, three supervisors, and a number of dedicated store associates. As a supervisor, you are an operational leader who strives to optimize productivity, efficiency, and quality. You will play a key role in helping the store achieve its established goals, including our profit targets, social goals, and environmental goals.

No two days are alike. As a supervisor, we expect you to take the initiative when needed and enjoy a varied workload.

Examples of work tasks:

  • You will oversee day-to-day operations, with a focus on production workflow, sales, and store operations.
  • You will sort and appraise incoming donations. The work can be physically demanding, so it’s helpful if you thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • You will provide orientation to new employees and guide them in learning their job responsibilities.
  • We are planning follow-ups with our partners.
  • You are responsible for ensuring that the store is well-stocked and provides a great customer experience. You will be in charge of the store on certain evenings and weekends.
  • You will report to the Head of Operations.

Qualifications

You have

  • management training or relevant work experience in management.
  • Experience working in a store, preferably in retail and sales.

 

You

  • You are confident and clear in your leadership role. You lead with a holistic perspective and are committed to driving the organization forward.
  • is strategic. Sees the big picture, can prioritize, analyze, establish a structure, and create procedures.
  • is performance-oriented. Takes a proactive approach with a focus on sales and logistics to achieve measurable results.
  • is loyal. Shows a positive attitude toward your work and the organization.

It would be an advantage if

  • You have experience or in-depth knowledge of appraising secondhand goods.
