School bus enables children to go to school

David is 10 years old and lives in the town of Baia Mare in Romania. In the area where David lives, many children have a long and dangerous walk to school. To make it easier for David and other children in the area to get to school, they now have to take a school bus both there and home.

Every morning David is woken up by his little dog. This makes David happy. Before school, David has to eat breakfast and brush his teeth. Then he walks a little way to get to the bus station. Before David and his friends get on the bus, they have to wash off their shoes. The ground is muddy and the bus driver doesn't want dirty shoes on the bus. The same bus driver drives the bus every day. This makes David feel safe.

The school bus

The school bus is warm and cozy. Sometimes it is so nice on the bus that some of the children fall asleep for a little while. The bus stops and drops off the children at several different schools.

Before the school bus

Before children in David's area could ride a school bus, the school route was long and dangerous. Some children had to cross roads where there are many cars. Parents couldn't walk their children to school because they had to work and take care of the home. Now that the school bus is available, many more children can go to school.

David's favorite subjects are math and gymnastics

At school, David mostly enjoys PE and math. When he grows up, he wants to work as a police officer or a teacher. David thinks it is important to go to school and he feels happy when he is there.

After school

When school is over for the day, David goes to the after-school program in the area where he lives. After school, David goes home and plays with his dog.
