Global goals for students
Listening Here you will find 17 short films describing the SDGs for primary and secondary school students. According to the UN, there are four major goals to be achieved by 2030: eradicate extreme poverty, reduce inequalities and injustices, promote peace and justice, and solve the climate crisis. More about it in the videos below. First, a brief description of what the UN Global Goals are.
What are the UN Global Goals?
The 2030 Agenda is a plan created by the United Nations that sets out how all countries should work to make the world more sustainable. The plan contains 17 goals called the 'Global Goals for Sustainable Development'.

Films on the SDGs
Goal 1: No poverty
Poverty in the world has been halved since 1990. The world's countries have decided that the first global goal is to eradicate poverty.
Goal 2: No hunger
SDG 2 is about ending hunger. The distribution of food needs to be more equitable so that everyone has access to nutritious food. No one should go without food for the day, no matter where in the world they live.
Objective 3: Health & well-being
Everyone has the right to healthcare, medicines and doctors. Everyone in the world has the right to vaccination and to be educated on how best to stay healthy. Everyone has the right to feel as good as possible.
Objective 4: Education for all
Everyone should be able to go to school and education should be of good quality.
Objective 5: Gender equality
Everyone is of equal value. Everyone should have the same rights and opportunities regardless of who they are and where they live.
Goal 6: Clean water & sanitation
Everyone should have access to clean water and functioning toilets. One third of the world's population lives without it.
Objective 7: Sustainable energy
Goal 7 is about creating sustainable energy for all. Much of the electricity produced today comes from fossil fuels, which is not good for the environment.
Objective 8: Fair working conditions
Everyone should be fairly compensated for their work. Everyone should be protected and safety should be good at work.
Objective 9: Sustainable industry
SDG 9 is about creating sustainability in industry, giving everyone access to innovations that make life better and building sustainable infrastructure.
Goal 10: Reduce inequalities
The differences between people in the world must be reduced. Everyone has the same rights, whether you are a girl or a boy, young or old.
Goal 11: Sustainable communities
SDG 11 is about making the world's cities and communities sustainable. We must build with the environment and children in mind.
Goal 12: Sustainable consumption
The goal is about everything that is made and bought. All the materials we take from the planet must be used wisely and reused to avoid depleting the Earth's resources.
Goal 13: Climate change
We need to take care of our planet and stop global warming. Burning coal and oil is making the Earth too hot. We need to change that.
Objective 14: Ocean
Goal 14 is about the need to take care of the oceans and the animals that live there. They are essential to the health of the planet.
Goal 15: Ecosystems
All animals, insects and plants are important for the functioning of the ecosystem. We need to take care of all of this for the planet to thrive.
Goal 16: Peace
SDG 16 is about ending violence in the world. Societies should be peaceful and equal justice should apply to all.
Goal 17: Global partnership
All countries in the world need to help each other to achieve sustainable development. Everywhere.
