The Erikshjälpen organization is led by two separate boards; one for the Erikshjälpen Foundation and one for the Erikshjälpen Second Hand Association. There is also a joint management team. Erikshjälpen's Secretary-General is Mattias Ingeson.
The Board is Erikshjälpen's highest decision-making body and meetings are held five times a year. The Board is responsible for ensuring that operations are conducted in accordance with the vision, values, purpose and goals. The Board is also responsible for ensuring that the internal control is sufficient and that the business is run efficiently.
In order to best manage such a large and varied organization as Erikshjälpen, the board members must contribute with different experiences and skills. Aid experience, knowledge of children's rights and needs, international experience, financial expertise, environmental expertise, leadership, knowledge of personnel issues and understanding and experience of fundraising, communication and marketing are some of the resources that must be present in our board.
Erikshjälpen Second Hand is a non-profit organization with its own board, which is appointed each year at an annual meeting of the association's members. The board of Erikshjälpen Second Hand in turn appoints an executive director for Erikshjälpen Second Hand Hand. The executive director of Erikshjälpen Second Hand Hand is Jerker Sandell.
Overarching issues such as vision, purpose, branding, finance originate from the Foundation's Board, are coordinated with the Association's Board and are implemented through the two operational management teams.
Erikshjälpen also has a joint management group for issues relating to the whole, the organization's culture, identity and leadership.
